Our Story

our first valentine’s day, 2019

It all started when…

We found each other on a dating app after Natalie saw her old college friend Gary in one of Gerald’s pictures and decided to reach out. After a few dates, it appeared this wouldn’t be your average Hinge experience… flash forward through a burst appendix, meeting the family, a pandemic, some home-schooling and a big move to a new apartment, Gerald popped the question in McGolrick park, where we fell in love.

THE PROPOSAL

After a relaxing Memorial Day afternoon alone together, we took a walk to the park to our favorite spot. We sat down on our bench across from the playground and had a nice moment talking about our love and future together. Gerald leaned in for a kiss, which was immediately followed by “BLLLLLECK! Dis-GUST-ingggggg…ew, kissing…”

We turned to find a little girl atop the fence staring at us through her iPhone video, unaware that we could see or hear her. We burst out laughing, scared her half to death, and she ran away yelling for her mommy.

When we were done cracking up, he proposed. And the rest is history!
